Your turnaround: where the number is set and everywhere it shows
3 minute read
Your turnaround is the number of days you need from a confirmed order to a finished piece. Your shop's usual number is set in one place: your Pricing page, on the Policies & shop details tab, on the card called "Turnaround & time away". A product that needs longer, like one whose blank takes weeks to arrive, can have its own number too. That part is further down this guide.
That card is not where most people look first. The Storefront page has a box called "Shop policies" with the hint "Turnaround, payment, returns" beside it, and it is natural to expect the number to be set there. It is not. That box holds words you write for buyers in your own voice. The number Broidry actually uses comes from the Pricing page, and changing the words in the policies box changes nothing on any listing.
Set it
- 1Open your Pricing page and choose the Policies & shop details tab.
- 2Find the card called "Turnaround & time away". The box labeled "Standard turnaround (days)" holds your number. Type the number of days you need.
- 3Press "Save booking window". "Saved ✓" appears next to the button when it has taken.
Everywhere the number shows up
Your shop page tells buyers "currently booking about two weeks out", with the weeks worked out from your number. Every listing carries a line that reads "Typical turnaround: about 14 days once your order is confirmed", with your own number in place of 14. Change the number on the Pricing page and both lines change at once.
A product inside a live drop counts from the drop's close date instead, because the buyer pays now and you stitch after the drop closes. Its line reads "Typical turnaround: about 14 days after orders close on September 22".
When a buyer asks for a date sooner than your turnaround allows, the order form tells them it is a rush and adds the rush fee from your rate card to the quote.
Paid orders get their due date from it too. When an order is paid, with a deposit counting as paid, and the customer never gave a date, Broidry sets the due date to the payment day plus your turnaround, skipping past any time away. It only ever fills in a blank: a date the customer asked for, or one you typed yourself, is never changed. To change the automatic one, open the order and click Change on the Need by line.
Give one product its own turnaround
Some products take longer than the rest of your shop. If a blank takes two or three weeks just to arrive, your usual two weeks is not a promise you can keep on that one product, and raising your shop's number would change it on every product at once.
- 1Open the product from your Products page and scroll to Pricing & policies.
- 2Find the box labeled "Turnaround for this item" and type the number of days that product needs. It saves by itself when you click out of the box.
- 3To go back to your shop's usual number, clear the box or press "Use my shop's usual turnaround".
Time away
On the same card, under "Add time away", pick the first and last day you will be away and press "+ Add". Then press "Save booking window"; the dates are not saved until you do.
Days inside that range are skipped when Broidry works out the booking window your shop page shows and the due dates it fills in, so a week off in July never shortens the promise a buyer sees.
